Like Helyn's, things have grown quite a bit since planting in February. Simple side treatment - this area runs from the rear of the garage and the laundry to the clothesline, with our water tank down the back, so it's not in view from most of the house. We didn't want to spend a fortune, and just wanted to keep weeds down and have a non-muddy surface underfoot, so we went for toppings. The pots can be seen from the lounge windows: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front (not quite finished).... there's some more planting been done now, but still a few gaps and a timber slat screen needed to hide our bins at the side. One of these days.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ That's it so far. I'm hopeful that we may actually have most of the rear landscaping done by October.... Oh and by the way I took your facade photography tips - my house pics turned up a treat!! Have you got any tips for photographing the interior? I'll be keeping an eye on the yuccas....they're nicely sheltered from winds, but I have no worries about repotting things. Gives me something to do. I designed the layout and chose the plants and mulches etc, but we had some pros do the grunt work (part of the deal with our land purchase). My husband did the deck and spread the toppings for the paths. We'll be doing the back ourselves, which is why it isn't finished yet. Sorry, no tips at all for indoor photos, except to experiment with flash on or off. Watch for windows in the background in daylight too - they confuse the camera's light meter. If you can take a meter reading from another part of the room and save it, that helps....not all cameras let you do that though. Maybe try Googling for interior+photography+tips or something similar. We still need some landscaping inspiration...front garden still incomplete. Have you posted pics of your back garden then S&P?? I need PLENTY of inspiration!! Although my yard will be landscaped by the developer, i'm hoping to have *some* say in its design!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Show me your garden!! 28Oct 29, 2009 8:12 pm I'm madly collecting photos from magazines and websites for inspiration for the back yard. Due to lack of time for DIY, we're about to get some quotes from professionals and hopefully will have the garden looking respectable before Christmas. Depending on the cost, we may get the whole thing done.... or just paving and a basic design.... or paving, design and some other stuff. Let's see how the budget works out. Mozzie, arent you going to put in a side fence? Facade and street look really good.. I like the way you have put the stepping pavers, 2 in a row instead of normal 1. Re: Show me your garden!! 39Oct 31, 2009 12:45 pm Hey thanks, Side gate is definetly on the cards just have to save up for one - can't decide on a timber one or a steel gate. The only regret I have with the facade is the fake 'timber effects paint' doesn't match with the real stuff or the fake garage door wood . PD had a few problems with the cladding and the roof flashing/tiling for the raised section so it has it's drawbacks. I can't wait for all the plants to grow but as most of them are conifers I'll be waiting a long time. Im pretty sure its the PD Bluewater...theres a few displays left with this facade..but I think it wont be in the new range of facades.
