Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jun 14, 2009 8:01 pm Hi guys Most grateful for any advice. I need to build retaining walls round most of my houses's footings to prevent the ground falling into the space under the house. I'm planning on placing the retaining walls on top of the existing concrete footings. The maximum height I need is 780mm. I would like to bolt I and C steel sections to the concrete footings and then insert something that is no more than 90mm wide in the gaps. I was thinking concrete sleepers, hebel panels, etc etc. It has to be something that can be cut to height so I can attain exactly 780mm. Does anyone have any suggestions what product I could use and where I could get it? I'm in SE Melbourne. Thanks for any help. All the retaining walls Ive seen have the steel/timber either concreted in or set into a deep hole. Re: Another retaining wall question - DIY concrete?. 5Jun 30, 2009 10:01 am If you use concrete block and corefill the blocks or cast concrete as suggested by onc_artisan, you can always use chemset or something similar to bolt the steel sections.
