Guess it depends on where you are & what cement eg, exposed ag, pebble-crete etc? cheers Re: Decking or concrete 4May 31, 2009 8:54 am I would like the same question answer my self as I am looking at either concrete or decking out the back.I had some concrete done before two slabs one begining 9x3 and the other was 25metres long x1200 and the all up price was around $4000 including steel, bobcat, labour, conrete, crushdust etc.So I would love to know how they compare in price too. finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Decking or concrete 5May 31, 2009 11:09 am It all depends on the type of timber used, height, whether handrailing is needed etc but decking can be around the $200-250/m² mark, perhaps cheaper if it is a close to ground level deck with easy setup. Concrete can be around the $50/m mark for plain, add another $10/m for colour, and up around $90/m for exposed agg. Plus your excavation/removal costs are extra. You could also contemplate paving, which could be up around the $110-150/m mark depending on style and paver prices. All depends on the look you are after as well as your budget. Go through a a few pics and designs to see what will best suit your house, your yard, budget and your lifestyle. Re: Decking or concrete 6Jun 01, 2009 2:17 pm nww1969 I'll let you know in a couple of days. About to go to Carolls pine central coast to order deck for a 5550 x 2000 which will include roof timber. Just ordered the timber. All treated pine. Total cost delivered $1373.03 Includes all the joist hanger/nails ect. Only thing not included is the laser lite roofing and the 4 posts into ground as I already have them in place. I will be doing the job myself. Re: Decking or concrete 7Jun 01, 2009 3:50 pm I always prefer timber decking in smaller areas. If you are trying to do it as cheap as possible you have chosen well with the treated pine. A good oil that contains a stain can enhance the look of your treated pine if this is the type of look you are after. Remember this will require more maintenance and an oil every 6 months to a year to keep it looking pristine. Good luck with the construction. Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10974 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home. Visit for… 1 15812 |
