Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 30, 2007 11:17 am Hi there,
I have an area at the rear of my house that slopes down pretty steeply. I intend to cut into the area and make a couple of terraced retainng walls in it. The question I have is what should I use to cut into it. I am yet to move into the house, so the first thing I will try will be using the mattock, but I don't think I will have much luck. I am also considering a jack hammer, or someone suggested maybe using a dingo or similar. Can anyone suggest some ideas please? Re: Cutting into hard dirt - rock 2May 01, 2007 12:44 pm Why do you want to terrace it if it is so hard? Normally terracing is used to stop it collapsing. If you just want it to look better, try digging out some small holes and planting creepers and mountain type plants.
3xb Hi all, I have been looking at land in South Australia, that is on a slope however most of the core excavation is complete, with a flat area to place a house. The agent… 0 1411 5 10477 I use Tramex moisture meter and it will tell me instantly if the wall is cement sheet or plaster or masonite but most people dont have the equipment. 5 7086 |
