Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 25, 2009 10:11 am Hi All, I need to put a retaining wall on my block, approximately 10-12 m long. My front door looks out onto this retaining wall, which falls from a height of about 1m to nothing along its length. Based in Melb. As you can easily see this retaining wall from the front door I'd like to look into different materials that are available. Does anyone know of the differing materials (stone/wood/link blocks, etc) that can be used, and their relative costs? (Websites/images would be good, or even a showroom to go and see). Thanks in advance, Rob Re: Retaining Walls 2Apr 25, 2009 4:53 pm hey rob, don't know if this will help but heres some piccies my parents retaining wall built a couple of weeks ago - obviously she's not quite finished but still looks pretty good! leftover double size bricks were purchased from ebay (leftovers from someones build) to build this retaining wall. i think mum paid about $400 for about 700 bricks. (this size bricks sell for about $1200 per thousand) all together the wall cost about $700.00 and is about 35m long and 70 cm tall, plus stairs...gotta love ebay!!! Re: Retaining Walls 7May 29, 2009 5:48 pm Hi - I'm a newbie to this forum and only my second post (after a brief intro posted yesterday..) I have a question about retaining walls. I'm building in Perth and would like to know if anyone can recommend a company that does residential retaining walls at a competitive price. (Am on a budget roll here). I don't know much about them, the material (i.e. stone or bricks etc..) that they use and how much it would cost... I have attached some photos of the site below. The other one is a bit blurry but you'll have a fair idea on the lenght of the slight elevation that would need retaining. The fence will have to be installed on the retaining wall eventually. Thanks!
