Hi all,
Well I am kinda new to this forum.....I have only just signed up but my husband Mikky G has been around for a little while.
Anyway we have just moved into our place in South Morang....very exciting, but glad that the move in is all over. Now is it time for us to spend some time thinking about our backyard. As I am all new to this, I am unsure how to upload photos, but will ask the hubby. We have a very small backyard only about 5x16 metres and have big dreams.
Hubby would really like a spa, probably one of those barrel ones, and an area for a BBQ, we also have a covered alfesco that we are going to get concrete with a stenciled top, and hopefully a water feature up against the wall. And we have dogs..little ones but I think my dream of a very small veggie garden is out of the question, they will eat it all.
And then there is the front yard....we get our landscaping done for us, but not sure yet what to do...(yeah i know I need to put photos up to show what we are working with). We are hoping to have the driveway done around the end of July.
Anyway before i get my photos up I have a couple of questions:
- was thinking of maybe having some grass in the front yard, any recommendations for grass for a north facing property? We dont really have green thumbs either.......
- really would like a water feature....anyone know of any good websites/suppliers please let me know, still not sure what we like so if you have any pictures of ones that would be fantastic
- with putting in a water feature we are thinking of putting it up against our side fence at the end of our alfesco area. We are looking at concreting this...what provisions for power should I have for the water feature?
- also looking at a very small deck area (mainly walking paths and a small area for a table and chairs) any recommendations on lights and what should i do about getting power to those areas
- also any estimates of paving that ppl have done...and any recommendations of tradies that ppl have used.
Hopefully the pictures will make sense...once I figure out how to get them up.
