Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 13, 2009 8:49 am After coming across a great link last week of a book on gardening I found this link this morning. http://books.google.com.au/books?id=MMMjW6AuzHAC&pg=RA3-PA222&lpg=RA3-PA222&dq=Choisya+ternata+perth&source=bl&ots=xS0oZ9QrvK&sig=FR5h0hNa3wXujywXcQItYuc0aaw&hl=en&ei=oOsJSuDOCoH6kAWk5YSjCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3#PPA51,M1 It contains rather a large portion of the book. Perhaps about 95%+ of it. There are some good snippets on quite a few plants and their growing habits. The comment to go with the page says: A collection of about 2000 fact sheets about Gardening (ornamental plants A to Z; herbs, fruit and vegetables A to Z; lawns; pests, weeds and diseases; gardening techniques; garden DIY and landscaping; garden styles and features); Pets (roadtests ; pet care); Conservation and the environment; Home among the Gum Trees (home maintenance; interior design); Food, nutrition and health (recipes; nutritional advice; health and fitness tips) It's basically a collection of BB tips. Re: Book- the complete burke's backyard 4May 13, 2009 9:14 pm Ok gonna fess up. I found it purely because of Fu and Michelle. I read all Fu's posts to do with gardening and such and especially atm anything about trees. ( Not really stalking you Fu just think you provide some excellent info. Honestly. lol ) I was reading Michelles post about what tree and was googling all the suggestions given. I googled Murraya because I didn't know what one looked like. Suggestions were to get a Choisya ternata because it was more frost tollerant for here. Then I looked up Hibiscus Tilleaceous rubra. Anyway in one of my googling efforts up popped that link. It was pretty much the same with the last link. I was hunting down places to buy the book a bit more cheaply and came across it. He is also by the same token done more for horticulture by getting gardening interesting for the masses than anyone in all his years He is fantastic to watch. Even if you don't like him, he is good at what he does. I couldn't say i have ever disagreed with his advice ever, unlike many others on the telle. He has a sense of logic to his work and good common sense. He gets his hands dirty and is a true gardener as well as a hort. That is a hard to find combination A few of the lads and ladies on ABC gardening Australia would fall into that bracket as well I too have a huge hoticultural library themax So good to get into a good book DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair That laser level looks lovely!
