Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 02, 2009 11:19 pm Hi I am hoping that someone can recommend some garden edging for me, to go between a sandpit and grass. We plan to build a large sandpit area in the backyard for our kids. As the sandpit will be an odd shape with one side kind of being like the curves of a peanut, we are thinking that we will need some kind of division/edging where it meets the grass (which is currently still dirt ). We have a garden bed in the making at the front of our house and we used some black edging from Bunnings, not sure what it is called or the material but it's hard flexible plastic type stuff. I hate it with a passion as it has just warped and shrunk from the 40deg days earlier in the year, so I'm looking for other options. What sort of edging would you recommend? Thanks heaps, Bec Re: recommendations for bendable/curved garden edging? 2May 03, 2009 8:04 pm Not sure it will be suitable for your space given that it's for a kid's sandpit border, but we used some corrugated iron to edge our garden. It bends and curves, looks shiny and just needs to be dug in (personally, I think the appearance would be better with stakes... but you don't have to use them). Again though, even though it has a safety top, I could still foresee a nasty accident if a little kiddy went tumbling on top of it. Re: recommendations for bendable/curved garden edging? 3May 03, 2009 8:41 pm Pretty sure there are quite a few threads on this topic with photos too. In the discussion tools box, top right plug in some key words like edging and search the landscape forum Re: recommendations for bendable/curved garden edging? 5May 04, 2009 2:19 pm Hello there, we are looking for edging for quite a while too, this may help you; 1). thought of Kwik kerb? my neighbour has this done, around $28-$35 dollars a metre, they are coloured concrete 2). Linkedge, they are metal but bendable edging, let me check their website ; www.linkedge.com.au 3). plastic edger a bit thicker than the one sold in Bunnings and very flexible, if you are in Victoria, you can find in some garden shops, this is what we decided on because of its durability & price, only $17 per 4.2 metres 4). what about linkable bricks we saw some in Daisy Garden Supply & Garden Trade in Mordialloc, very versatile around $1.60 per brick. 5). Then of course the very nice more expensive stackable Brick blocks, one of our neighbours use this, very nice, each one around $3.50 and the end ones you need someone to cut for you to have exact fit. Hope you find what you like !!!Good luck!!!
