If so then it's a myrtaceae of some sort. My first thoughts would be a Callistemon or a Melaleuca (is the bark rough and fairly easy to pull off?). They can both get quite large. Will have to rub the leaves together next time and see what it smells like!!! The bark seems to be quite soft and papery The whole plant is very spindly. The leaves are really spikey, too. Tried to zoom in on the leaves but only had the crappy phone camera on me. Re: Does anyone know what this is? 7May 03, 2009 9:08 pm It is a Melaleuca They are the paper barks They are also where Tea tree oil comes from That one looks to be Melaleuca Squarrosa which is a common tree in urban landscapes.
