Re: WA Garden week 45Oct 02, 2009 2:34 pm I bloody hope they do have someone from Ozbreed there show casing this excellent turf. If they don't you can bet it is used in some of the displays by the better landscapers. Re: WA Garden week 46Oct 02, 2009 7:13 pm Floriade was good, if you love flowers! I don't have a big thing for flowers, but I like tulips, and there sure were a lot of tulips. Not really much in terms of gardens. No Zoysia that I saw My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! I am displaying again this year but on a much bigger scale. I am working with MP Landscape Designs on a 10m x 10m display called "In the Pink" dedicated to the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA, so please come along and have a look and introduce yourself. I believe there will be more display gardens this year and Graham Ross is coming back for the second year. See you there Re: WA Garden week 53Mar 16, 2010 10:51 pm Botanicblue I just thought I would let everyone know that Garden Week 2010 is being held 8th-13th April at Perry Lakes - the dates have been brought forward by a week. Oh and Ani, Garden week has been brought forward this year so it doesn't compete with I think it's the Red Bull Air Race. I'll get lots of good photos for you Re: WA Garden week 54Mar 16, 2010 11:58 pm But I don't care about the red bull air race! I care about garden week! Re: WA Garden week 55Mar 27, 2010 10:53 am WA Garden Week starts soon. April 8th to 13th. Anyone else going? i was planning on going on the 9th or 10th but now it looks more likely it will be on the following Monday or Tuesday. Is there any difference in when you go apart from the presenters?. I might pick up a few plants as well as get information and collect some specials. Do display/sellers replenish stock? Am I better off going on the 9th ( fri) than the following Monday ( right after the weekend) or Tuesday ( last day)? Will i miss out if I choose to go on the final day instead of earlier ? I'm trying to avoid having to make 2 more trips to Perth ( one for garden week and a 2nd one to take my son to for a sleepover on the 13th as I'm about to make my 3 trip to Perth in 4 weeks this weekend. It's approx a 3 hour journey each time. arghh) http://www.gardenweek.com.au/ http://www.gardenweek.com.au/advice.htm Re: WA Garden week 56Mar 28, 2010 10:16 pm Our garden is called In The Pink and is a garden designed for Breast Cancer Awareness. We are raising money through the garden for the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA. Landsdale plants have provided our plants for us and we will be selling the plants on the last day of the show with profits going to the charity. Arborwest have also provided the trees and we will be selling them on the last day too. We will also be running a raffle for a BBQ and an outdoor heater, both kindly donated by Rinnai with all money collected going to BCFWA. I know there are a more landscape displays at Garden Week this year so I would imagine that the other displays will be doing the same thing. If you are after some good deals, then Tuesday is the day to come. Re: WA Garden week 57Apr 01, 2010 12:50 am kexkez WA Garden Week starts soon. April 8th to 13th. If not maybe next year? Re: WA Garden week 2010 8th-13th April 60Apr 02, 2010 11:05 am The Whistle Pipe Gardens display will again provide the public access to the weird and wonderful plants not often seen or grown anymore They are super at identifying strange things growing in the garden too Muchea Tree farm will also have a top display and massive range of WA plants with the crew there able to answer just about any question on natives and their care or growing techniques There will be a super display /stall for buying Day Lily's too The frog doctor, Johnny Profumo will be doing talks which are well worth a listen Steve Woods will be doing talks on water plants and even edible water plants which he grows heaps of. The wonderful Sue Mac Dougall will be doing some free talks and so will Sabrina Hahn. Those two are pretty funny The talk by Faye Arcaro on backyard aquaponics will also be tops Keep an eye for the lovely Jackie Hooper from Zanthorrea Nursery and her talks on WA natives. She is such a pleasure to meet and hear speak And the ever amusing "Dr" (he seems to hide that title) John Colwill will be keeping things upvibe with his fairly unique no BS approach to speaking the truth in Horticulture Often a good laugh He will be doing a few talks for folks to listen too http://www.gardenweek.com.au/advice.htm Hi Everyone I learned something this week that I thought would be worth sharing.
