Now is the time of year to buy your colourful autumn trees, as you get to see their 'true colours'. Trees like Japanese Maples can vary quite massively in their autumn colour even from the same species. It is best to pick the exact autumn colour now, instead of guessing or hoping later in the year (or in spring). Other trees to look at include the other maple varieties, crepe myrtles and ash. It looks great through the warmer months and gets wonderful reddish flowers in late Summer. As crepe myrtles mature, they lose their rough bark and develop a lovely smooth trunk, with wonderful colours to be enjoyed during the colder months.
