Re: hedge plants 3Mar 30, 2009 9:51 am There are many many options for hedging. Some of the more common and very managable and hardy hedging varieties are - Murraya, Camelia, Photinia, Lilly Pillies, Pittosporum, Gardenia and Buxus. It depends on many things which variety will suit you best - location, height required, density of the hedge and desired aethetics of the hedge. Have a look at the above varieties, chances are one will suit your requirements. Re: hedge plants 4Mar 30, 2009 6:12 pm really the height is not important as I can cut them to the height I require I would say about 1 to 1.4 metres finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: hedge plants 5Mar 30, 2009 6:44 pm being a Queenslander your best option is going to be a Murraya. Very common and easy to find in retail nurseries there. fast grower for you guys and doesn't have nasty roots. Great smelling flowers and lush green foliage make it hard to beat. For a different spin on things look at the colourful Acalyphas also common in Queensland. The Wilkisania red and yellows are amazing when used together. Lush leaves and loads of bright interesting colour. Not only that but they are so easy to grow from cuttings making them more affordable than nearly any other hedging plant. Murraya could be a great option for you. It creates a great tall screening hedge but doesn't drop fruit like lily pilly. The flowers smell divine. 2 10241 |
