I have a few mystery plants...they are about 30-40 cm high...grow in areas which only get morning sun...grow in areas I don't water and in areas which get small amounts from a dripper...but not a lot....incidentally there's also one that does quite well in afternoon sun but with some shade.
I would describe them as green... ...fern-ish looking plants...they grow like cordylines from a single stem and similar leaf feel.
Here's a couple of examples....

Why do I ask?....well in a garden bed I've got a stack (see below) that are popping up after the recent (fortnight ago) rain...but the two others which are about five metres away never produced seed pods and I pulled a bigger one out and they don't have suckers or runners...so what the hell are they....?????
