It isn't unusual here in WA to have limestone retaining wall bounding properties as high or higher than that. Then you have a nice level back yard That is a huge amount of earth works though. If you terrace it, I would say it would be an easier option. I recall a garden in Lillydale that we played in as kids and it was all terraced with local stone.
