In about 5-7 days time all the rust will be eaten away and you'll have shiny new metal again. (Time will depend on amount of rust obviously) A few old hot rod restorers taught me this as they are forever trying to restore old parts and put them to good use. I've had that mentioned by a lot of people who restore cars. Re: Molasses and how to use it 125Feb 02, 2011 11:17 am BuildlingPerth "as much as you like" sounds like "how long is a piece of string"! Sorry just a rough guide would satisfy my anal scientific geek brain! Bloody hell I don't know, just chuck it round. It depends on how each person uses a watering can. Every time I use anything in a watering can I vary the amounts going on depending on the area to cover and how long I can be stuffed doing it and what the plants may need. Just fill it with water and go for a wander round and see how long you spend watering and there is how you put it on Re: Molasses and how to use it 126Feb 02, 2011 12:43 pm i would really suggest going for the seasol/powerfeed sprayer approach so you don't have to keep mixing it on a 9L watering can. i bought the 2L sprayer for $12 at bunnings and just used it all up it's contents (covered ~40 sqm) and when it was all empty, mixed 500ml of mollasses (or maybe 750ml, I don't know just chucked 3 or 4 cups) in a bucket and added 1L of hot water to dissolve it.. then started putting the mix into the sprayer and used it all up.. still got a fair bit left from the 5L mollasses i bought so will do it again next week.. There are lots of properties around there with horses so you would think they might have it or at least know where to get it. I'd be interested in finding it too! Actually I put in a good cm. hmm so I'm doing too much too Re: Molasses and how to use it 134Aug 27, 2011 10:54 pm Lex Fu Manchu Gloop the Molasses into the watering can so you cover about half to 3/4 of the bottom. Please don't get too fussy on the exact measure. I don't I mean enough to cover the bottom of the watering can. Not start filling the watering can. Even that is a heavy amount but what I find is it still dilutes to about the same amount anyway when using cold water. Just has a heap left in there and I keep filling it up until its all gone You can see what I mean in the photos on the first page. Re: Molasses and how to use it 137Sep 20, 2011 8:45 pm tikelz Hi Fu... do you know what brand mollasses i should be buying? can u send me a link or photo of the label so i can buy the same 1 to treat my sir walter buffalo please? The brand is not important! Try ringing stock feed suppliers, home brew shops etc. A quick google search got me this: http://www.brandonmolasses.com.au/drum.html 25kg will last you ages but shouldn't cost you a fortune.
