Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 09, 2009 8:05 pm 12 months ago, I spotted a large model railway carriage in Cash Converters, made a stupid offer (he should have turned me down ) and I got it. It was a huge G scale carriage for G scale trains... I bought it for my 7 year old son - honest.
G scale stands for Garden Scale... totally waterproof and intended to stay out in the weather. Anyway after many hours on eBay with about 5 locomotives, several carriages and 150' of track in inventory my boy is pushing me hard to build it... I have measured up the garden and I am ready to build... but short on knowledge. So if you have experience please give me some ideas on how to cut in the track and what base to use. It's an area where we will need to mow regularly. Thanks Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. Maybe get onto them. I have looked at doing it here and the garden would be great for it But I'd rather spend the money on the ute there is bound to be a model train forum. That is the best I can do Re: "G" Scale Railways - Help Wanted 4Mar 09, 2009 8:44 pm Sorry, Ed, no help here. But would luv to see progress pics when you start.
'Bought it for my 7 yr old son'...........pppfffftttt!!!! Life's too short too drink bad wine Re: "G" Scale Railways - Help Wanted 5Mar 09, 2009 9:19 pm This is in no way helpful to you but I've always had this little fantasy about having a train run around my house transporting things around. My idea is to have empty carriages so you can place dirty clothes, a cup of coffee etc in it and then a person in the other room can get the item.
Let me know how you go coz I'm still childlike (read stupid) enough to attempt this Building Upside down house in Wantirna VIC Current Stage: Procrastination... it's just all too hard.... Mike, I reckon that we would be about 80kms apart and at around $44/m, that is around $3.5 million , and we haven't bridged the Yarra yet. Perhaps you could meet me half way... let me know when you get there. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. I can email you a copy… 10 12554 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7226 |
