Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 03, 2009 1:53 pm We are in the process of trying to get a house ready for us to move into.
The place was taken over by us and it was in a very bad way, anyway, we have done a great deal of work to it to make it "livable" but we need to do a front fence as we need to have our 1yr old dog out the front. my idea is to just use the old galvanized pool fencing and cover it in that roll out stick/bamboo fencing stuff(?) problem is we need 21mtrs across the front (+4mtrs for the gate) just need to use this as we need a quick and in-expensive way of erecting a stable fence. i guess i am asking has anybody done anything like this before and/or does anybody know anybody that actually has this galvanized fencing for sale? we were looking at having the fence 1.8m high (for privacy & security) any tips also at trying to make a fence straight/square when there is nothing to go off that is square/level/etc.. Cheers & TIA Roh Re: Front fence 2Mar 03, 2009 8:40 pm Dont know how much you will pay for steel fence, try ebay for secondhand stuff.
But depends how much it costs you, we have just spent $250 for every 3 metres of treated pine fence, we have replaced one side fence and have also erected the front fence at 7 metres on one side and a 1 metre the other side, however that does not include gates its just for 3 metres of fence at 1.2m high. We are in the process of get quotes for the steel frame for the large double gates and the small side gate. We have put this up at the beginning of either side of the house as we dont want to use it for our front fence and we are not sure we even want a front fence, its mainly for the privacy espically for the 7 metre side but most importantly to keep our german shepard in, once the gates are up.
