We have to include a landscaping plan together with the house plan/architecture etc to the council/DA for approval.. but i don't know of any reasonable company that does this for you .. could anyone of you guide me in this regards? .. sure there are names on the internet but i was looking for a 1st hand reference..
Thanks PS: I'm in Sydney (North-West), looking for a 450m2 block land with about 4.5m front easement and around a 10m backyard. --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 2Feb 06, 2009 12:34 pm We just did our own - check with your council as you may not require one done by a professional. Ours just had to show soft surfaces and hard surfaces. We included existing trees and some plants that we already have that we will replant once we build. If you know someone that can use photoshop and do it to scale that should be sufficient! Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 3Feb 06, 2009 1:07 pm bluemetal77 Hi ! They'll do the plan and give us a full planting guide and quote for construction works for $600. I'll let you know how we go, I'm just waiting for the CAD files from the builder to be released so I can give them to the landscaper. Any tips? 6Feb 07, 2009 9:15 am There's no reason why you can't just hand-draw it if you prefer. Use a photocopier to enlarge your site plan, then tracing paper to mark boundaries, house walls/windows/doors and any existing trees. Make several photocopies of that, get your pencil, ruler and rubber out and go nuts.
Mine was very low-tech and I had no problems at all getting it approved. Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 7Feb 07, 2009 9:15 pm a simple few rules to guide you in your design.
1. Always use odd numbers, it just looks right. 2. Try to be able to draw an imaginary triangle between the plants when planting. Again it looks more natural. 3. Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 8Feb 07, 2009 10:10 pm Fu Manchu 2. Could you please give an example? can't quite picture what you are saying. also, any other "guidance"? Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 9Feb 07, 2009 10:28 pm OK
Triangulate the plantings. many get stuck in planting in lines with multiple plants. Great occasionally but seeing how odd numbers of plants just look right, you can often plant them so they form the tips of an imaginary triangle of some sort of description. It too makes for a more natural planting. Eg, Say you have 3 palms to plant. If you plant the three of them zig zag you can then draw a triangle between them in the soil with a stick. Do you get where I'm coming from? It sometimes maybe a near flat triangle, but a triangle none the less. You may not plant like that when creating an avenue but when planting in wide garden beds, it's a technique that gives an excellent result. It may not be the same species of plant. It may three or 5 feature trees. As long as in some way you can draw a triangle between them all, you will often have a visually appealing garden. remember rule #3 though Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 10Feb 09, 2009 3:55 pm I am currently in the same position, council are asking for a landscape plan for our block. We have drawn it up ourselves and listed the plants we wanted to plant after visiting a local nursery. Good luck Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 13Mar 10, 2009 7:53 am All i did for my landscape plan , was enlarge the site elevation which shows where the house will be situated and draw (little clouds) which represented trees, then labelled them A B C etc then had a table with the plant names next to the corresponding letter. As i am on acreage i only had to do a small area of sreening plants not a whole block. Good luck. A great place to get plants is Downes Nursey at Theresa park, a variety of sizes and resonably priced open sat to which helps.
I also used the triangle method - i have just planted 38 trees on my land and it looks great. Re: Landscaping Plan .. Any tips? 14Mar 10, 2009 8:37 pm take your house plan to a photocopy centre, get it put onto a cd

We don't really want to pay someone to do it so will proberly be doing it by hand.
