As long as they have a shaded spot they should be ok. Even in Summer they survived although they didnt have the sun on them all day. If you have a nice shady spot give them ago! Re: Can someone please help me identify some of these? 23Apr 10, 2009 10:22 am catcat, you should add your location to your profile Yes, I know clivieas can grow in cool shady spots in Adelaide, my dad has grown them and they are beautiful, but I live in Whyalla and it is hotter and dryer here, they can still be grown here but need to be very careful, not easy to do successfully. Hippeastrums - yes they are also a beautiful plant, I have grown them here before as they can take our sun - my only gripe with them is they flower for only such a short time.
