Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 26, 2008 3:47 pm I have a question for some of our landscaping experts. I have a driveway down a gentle slope and along the edge of the driveway I'm going to run a linkwall about 4 blocks high. The driveway will be against the edge of the wall as in curves around towards the front door. If you look at my ******* sketch you can see what I'm trying to do.
My question is should the driveway be poured first and then the linkwall built including digging for the road base foundation or should the linkwall be completed and then the driveway be poured up the the edge of the linkwall. The blocks I am using are from Austral and can be made to suit any bend radius. Intially I figured that it was best to put in the linkwall first because quite often what I've seen is that when they remove the formwork for the concrete the concrete has run underneath the formwork which would then make it very hard to put in the linkwall. However I'm now starting to wonder what if I put the linkwall in and the concreter doesnt like it or needs to excavate deeper than the linkwall. What would the professionals do? Or is both the same? 6 7237 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16049 |
