Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 19, 2008 9:28 pm Okay, sooo front landscaping was included in our land cost, but we have to draw up our design and submit it prior to meeting with the landscaper. I have no idea but if you click on this link I have had a go...
Please give me some honest opinions/suggestions for improvement. http://v3.planningwiz.com/plankey_8e296 ... 3bf3ec6625 Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 2Nov 19, 2008 9:49 pm Well it will have to be good Rachael is in lead at the moment Just downloading it now
heh heh, it is good can we change it? i hope we can't ...Na I didn't change anything Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 3Nov 19, 2008 10:06 pm dietes can become a bit invasive. all varieties will get a bit messy I recon. Try using Dianella varieties instead, like emerald, nice and green and gets about the size of dianella. It also flowers too
The cordylines hmm, would look ok but you'd be stuck with Red fountain for choice because it needs to be low. cordy red fountain Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Maybe look at lomandra seascapes. It is a different colour but it looks so good on mass like that. which gives me a thought, what about the burgundy red fountain cordies up the side instead of dietes, then a strip of lomandra seascapes, then maybe lots of mondo grass or black mondo or liriope samantha (which looks like mondo but is easier and faster growing. Then that wonderfull jap maple in the middle. then another strip of lomandra seascapes and then more cordy red fountains in that bit near the drive. or sagina subulata under the maple. It looks like moss buy them in 140mm pots Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ get the cordies in 200mm pots, the maple in anything bigger than 30ltr or 305mm the lomandra is mostly sold in 200mm pots. so it would be red on the sides, then blue green strips the lush green in the centre under the red maple in autumn (or all year depending on variety ) Japanesey, modern water wise, it's kinda got all the bases covered lomandra seascapes (sorry big pic ) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I bet lots of others have some cool ideas Here's how West Aussies can make sand into soil Checkout The Forever Project Before starting your landscape attend a FREE Great Gardens workshop Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 4Nov 19, 2008 10:09 pm Hey Sharee, i love what you've done...i like the RHS better than the LHS though....maybe its the angled bed for the agave's that to me, is putting the balance out? not sure.....
You could run two parallel garden beds up each side of the front path? And maybe make sure you've got those stepping pavers close enough together to actually step on. Or if they do it exactly to plan, you might have to walk with long steps... But i do love your design...very modern. Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 5Nov 19, 2008 10:14 pm agaves might get a bit big near a walk way? Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 6Nov 19, 2008 10:35 pm Fu Manchu agaves might get a bit big near a walk way? Thats the truth too, didn't think of that at the time. Especially if they are planted in the dirt as opposed to being contained in pots. What sort of edging are you looking at Sharee between the beds? Something a little more solid would be good, like 20mm thick treated pine lengths perhaps? Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 7Nov 20, 2008 7:07 am Thanks soo much guys- lots to think about. I thought the same about the angled bed Phoenix, I will have a play and see what I can do with it. Thanks Fu Manchu - you are definitely the plant guru, I will look up some of the plants you have suggested and will post version two soon! Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 9Nov 20, 2008 7:51 pm Like I say, there are many I work with or know that know so much more than me

We debated whether to put plants in with the rocks and in the end decided since I have a habit of killing anything plant , we would fill the garden right up and remove them as they die Re: Help me with my landscaping pleeease.. 12Dec 04, 2008 11:36 am Hi Sharee, I got my landscaping pack today with a list of a million plants and trees. We were told that our front garden will have 30 plants and two trees and that we need to design our garden and send back to landscaping people. I rang our Developer as we were told that someone would design it for us and we could have input (if we wanted to) on the chosen plants (this was at sales stage). Anyway Developer said we can do that. So the garden layout/design and the chosing of plants will be done for us. Were you ever told this?
How did you go with your final design? Has your fencing started? Ours was finished on Tuesday. Not doing the side returns until January. Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar.
