Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 13, 2008 8:45 am I was just wondering wether anyone has either painted or stained their fence? Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
As with most people I have a million and one things I'm trying to achieve over the next few months while the weather is nice. One of those is doing something to the timber fence as I'm not really a fan of that grey colour it becomes over time. I'm just undecided about wether to paint or stain. I'd like to ideally stain it to match some of the timber at the front but I heard painting it was better as the pigment in the paint protects the timber from the sun. But, that brings up a whole other issue of what colour as I'm very hesitant in introducing another colour or a colour that will take the focus away from the house. But anyway, any opinions/thoughts? LOL to_do_list ....staining looks nice but I'd rather the fence not be the "feature" know what I mean? yeah, i get ya. that's what i thought, too. but going to have to pass on the woodland grey. it would just add another colour which i don't want to do.
