cheapest landscapping option

Hi guys,

first time building here. I am expecting to have around 325m2 of land / yard space for my land and I am budgeting 50k for landscaping.

Hopefully my expectation isn't too low... I am thinking of getting it all turfed up, probably sir walter buffalo, possibly automatic sprinkler if possible. Do you guys think the budget is realistic? I have look up the turf, 50k seems like a bit too much but I understand there are labours and other random things which I wont know about.

Happy to drop the sprinkler, if it is beyond my budget. I guess my question is roughly how much am I expecting to pay for turfing up 325m2? And what is involved in it?

Located in Brisbane QLD. To be exact, western suburb, anstead/bellbowrie/moggill area.

Thanks @spouts and Shoots . Always good to know some ballpark figures, they are extremely helpful to me in tracking my build budget.

One last question newbie question. If I were to turf a 300m2 area; do I have to consider some form of drainage to make sure water don't pile up on my lawn or soil that could potentially lead to more house movement?

depends on your underlying soil. if you're on sand or sandy loam, not really. if you're on Clay, 100% yes.

Also there is a really good series of posts on this forum by an old forum member called Fu Manchu that covers a wealth of knowledge on turf. Given the large area, i recommend you seek it out and have a read.
