Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 16, 2024 7:42 pm I recently finished my house and after landscaping, have begun to plan a fence. To be honest its been a bit of an afterthought so I'm after some much needed advice. The front of my house with dimensions is below: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ -It will be a white picket fence, 1475mm high. -I plan to build the fence from the right edge to the edge of the grass, then to have a gate similar to below: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ -I then planned to install an electric gate, but without electric provisions it was coming in between $7-10k and out of my budget. -I have now had the thought of running the fence along the right edge of the driveway to fence in the front yard (see picture below). This will cost approx $2k in materials. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The dilemma: -If I run the fence right along the driveway, it makes it crowded to open car doors when 2 cars are parked. Currently its a great width, but with a fence there it gets tight. -I have thought of running the fence along the edge of the brick path instead but not sure if this "overwhelms the path" and ruins the look a bit. -I have thought of running the path down the middle of the garden bed to give an extra 285mm on each side, but this would require an extra post that makes the front look "busy" So basically I'm looking for other potential options. PLEASE HELP! Re: Front Fence Landscaping Ideas 2Jul 22, 2024 3:16 pm Here are some of the considerations in selecting a yard fence: 1. Purpose: Will it be for privacy, security, or aesthetics? 2. Materials: Wood, vinyl, metal, composite—what is within your budget and best for your needs? 3. Design: Ensure that it suits your landscaping and the style of your house. 4. Regulations: Check the local regulations and guidelines by your HOA. 5. Maintenance: Pick material compatible with your willingness to maintain it over time. Consult with a local fencing contractor for further and more personalized advice. Landscape Companies: The experience of the firm, the portfolio, and customer reviews shall be considered while picking out a landscape firm. Check out those companies that have end-to-end services from design to installation, finally to maintenance. To my experience as I live in Chandler some of the landscape firms include: - Chandler Landscaping Designs The Grounds Guys Davey Tree TruGreen But the best company with whom I made my dog fence is Chandler Landscaping Designs.
