If only one, it would appear to be a DIY well and who knows how long it has been there! If so, it appears that you have an incredibly high water table. 3in1 Supadiverta. When do check the top pipe with the cam its goes towards the house for 3-4M but no water coming. The bottom small pipe goes only 0.5M and the third pipe again 1M and shows some roots blocking the pipe. I have emptied 2-3 times for the last 2 days and still filling the tank. What do i do now? Re: Dry Well in the backyard 7Jun 19, 2023 6:34 am The lower terracotta pipe indicates that it is a DIY silt pit with a blocked bottom pipe and a top inflow pipe that is no longer connected for whatever reason. The constant filling will be water table infiltration if the top pipe no longer carries water and the 'well' allows water to seep in but not fast enough to maintain supply to even a small pump. I would be concerned with the possibility that you have a high water table and can only suggest that you monitor the top pipe for any inflow when it rains as the surrounding high water level may be localised if there is inflow. The result of the monitoring will decide your next step. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper. I can only surmise as I have done without being on site and doing some excavation but the three pipes tend to rule out it being a small dedicated well. It's an interesting topic and all I can say is that the answers may require some digging to determine the original purpose of the 3 pipes. 3in1 Supadiverta. I thought this may be designed to soak well. so the third pipe just goes to the ground. Re: Dry Well in the backyard 11Jun 21, 2023 12:09 pm It's possible but a soak well is usually much larger. Your 'soak well' only holds 424 litres when full and it appears that it never empties. What is your soil type? Soak wells need sandy soils. 3in1 Supadiverta.
