Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 14, 2023 12:50 pm Hi! I'm currently stuck trying to work out what's the best option for a small retaining wall alongside the house. Context: our house sits higher then the neighbour and because of this there is a small slope from the edge of our concrete path that we have next to the house down to the bottom of the fence. What I need to do is build some sort of retaining wall next to the fence so that I can level off the side so that's its flat at the height off the concrete path. The length is about 16m, the height difference from the bottom of the fence to the concrete is about 600mm and the distance between the fence and the concrete is about 1.8m. There is a lot of rock in the ground. Looking to possibly DIY this but trying to work out what's going to be the best solution. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Some councils apply tight conditions when changing elevation near shared boundaries, so DIY may not fly-even if only 0.6m high. Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that.
