Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 02, 2022 7:08 am We live on a steep bush block in northern NSW and had to cut down an number of small eucalypts on the steep bank behind our house to comply with fire regs. We had a landslide in the Feb rains, so didn't poison any of the trees as we want to keep their root structures in tact to stabilise the bank. Our issue now is that they are sprouting like crazy in hard to reach spots and becoming a maintenance nightmare. Would anyone know of what we can apply to regulate their growth? Or at least force the growth into the roots and not the branches? A foliage application would be perfect... Re: Growth regulator for eucalypts 2Jan 16, 2023 12:26 pm I doubt there's a solution to this. Maybe find a native plant nursery and ask for advice there. Are you not allowed to plant any vegetation there? Shrubs not okay? Re: Growth regulator for eucalypts 3Jan 16, 2023 2:39 pm you cant. The only real regulation of growth is cutting them. Though theres probably better erosion solutions in way of smaller plants, but thats a long term solution. Also I'm unsure of how steep were talking and the current soil conditions. Though lots of the "strappy" native grasses are known for their erosion control. https://www.ozbreed.com.au/articles/top ... 35c0b-c5db |
