Hey all, there's a section of my yard in which I'd like to grow some pittosporums for privacy (pittosporums because we already have some along that wall, and want a continuation). We want them to get to at least 2.5m high, and to cover a 2.5m section of fence. Only problem is there's a concrete slab all the way to the fence, so we need to build a planter box.
I can build it myself, just wondering whether we can get the height/density we want from a pittosporum in a planter, and if so, how big does it need to be?
At the moment I'm planning on building the planter at 2400 x 900 x 600mm high. I'm considering whether I should go 800mm high rather than 600mm.
Any advice on growing shrubs/trees in planters (in particular, pittosporum) and how deep it needs to be?
