Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 12, 2021 2:39 pm I am a first home buyer. Getting experience of building a home while constructing my first home. I got this retaining wall built 1m high and I am not allowed to build more than this as per council requirements. Also, if I construct above this, then it is getting quite expensive for me. Now my dilemma is how to hide the neighbours soil that is visible above the retaining wall and not look ugly? Goodluck with that Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Retaining wall assistance required 3Apr 12, 2021 10:37 pm beautiful wall but you might have a few issues, it is very close to the boundary, not engineered and has other loads on it like that large white wall and the fence. You might need some professional advice from an engineer. Maybe a large concrete cast insitu wall above that with buttressed piers or something but all needs to be engineered. Re: Retaining wall assistance required 4Apr 17, 2021 7:34 pm Do you have engineering plans that show the height the retaining wall should be and correct height and design? It’s a beautiful wall but looks too low to be fit for purpose? Do you have an agi pipe behind the wall? Re: Retaining wall assistance required 5Apr 18, 2021 12:16 pm Hi, I won't add to the above but am wondering if this build was via CDC and the builder left you a slope with some useless space not obvious looking at the drawings? Re: Retaining wall assistance required 6Apr 23, 2021 11:58 pm Well wall will be built until big white wall of neighbours house. And retaining wall guy is a professional, so he has given warranty for 30 years. Also, council approved the wall to go upto 1.5 m height as an exception because of the slope on the land. So, it's all been sorted.
