Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 13, 2021 9:27 pm Hi guy, I am considering building a house. I really like Savoy 35 or 40 in porter davis but it will result my backyard 7.5m deep and 12.5m width. What does 7.5m yard looks like? Can anyone share a 7 or 8m deep yard photo please? I am really confused. OMG, my brain really cannot image or visualise it. QQ Re: what does 7.5m deep yard look like? It might be better to get a tape measure and temporarily layout this size with tape pinned to the ground in your current yard or a local park. Re: what does 7.5m deep yard look like? Then I suggest you get your own survey, geotech report, engineering and request 3D Engineering Bim and approximate costings for your Build before you succumb to sales and marketing rendered Images and salesman's suggestions they'll work it out later after you have paid a deposit. On Difficult Blocks, later is too late Here's why? 1.The Designers/builders Bim Software is Flaky, It fails to deal with Real Engineering, Instead offers a false perceptions and fake engineering. eg, LOL, the fake presentations always show a flat block with trees obscuring Boundaries, retaining, etc ... potentially big co$t items that will come back and bite you in the process 2. Some builders are in the habit of repricing projects just before they commence and then going after clients for more cash based on extra engineering. 3.Even if you don't end up Building and pull out you loose your 5% Deposit 4. Designers /Architect also fail to address the engineering at the earlier stages, preferring to leave it to the builder after you have given them a deposit. Some builders pay commissions and bump up prices? Blah, Blah,Blah, It seems the current system, of pay up and receiving limited information, is stacked against you? 5.Many a Architect/designer see them self's as artists, while engineers and others are left to fix up the mess left behind prior to construction, Don't take my word for it check what their software offers in the way of engineering? 6. Get profession advice, 3D AEC Bim, Data/Proofs, costs , that's all inclusive upfront before you commit Here 8m slope Site works, chemical injection, retaining engineering $100k Avoid looking at a fake rendered design on a flat block and then told to Imagine the slope and engineering Implications?
