What is this gum tree?

Hello. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of gum tree this is and what the things growing on it are?
There are little orange fungus and (difficult to see) black thorns growing on the brittle bark at the bottom. The bark on the bottom is rough and spongey on the tree and easily crumbled in my hand. Under the bark looks like spider webs. The top bark sheds unevenly sometimes twice a year. We are in south east Queensland
Any Advice would be great.

It's not a Moreton Bay Ash is it? There are apps for your phone that can actually help you identify plants by taking photos of leaves/flowers. Pretty amazing technology!

What tree is this?

General Discussion

Fellow Perth dweller. Looks like pruns nigra. It's a dark leaf flowering plum. Doesn't get massive and is easily trimmed deciduous tree. Very popular in small gardens in Perth
