I am also in Mernda Villages and im sooo confused about ther landscaping. I recieved the booklet and have spent hours online trying to find pics of the plants we have to pick from.... still no idea. according to the papaerwork we also have to draw a design of what we want, HELP... I have no idea does anyone know where I can view some displays? Thanks Platinumwithice Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 22Oct 16, 2008 12:53 pm HI Sharee and Platinumwithice,
The display gardens in M.V are up near the sustainability centre (in front of the "Horsey" Playground). When we looked at them earlier this year they were labelled A, B, C and D (from memory) and have different themes......wetland, native etc Maybe go and have a look and even check with Jane in the Sales office. We were told approx how many plants we would get and we could go through all that with the landscaper. We haven't got that far yet so you'll have to let me know what you find out Happy at Home Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 23Oct 16, 2008 12:54 pm platinumwithice Hi Sharee I am also in Mernda Villages and im sooo confused about ther landscaping. Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 25Oct 16, 2008 1:37 pm Platinumwithice, we aren't that far from you - on Mernda Village Drive.
Hmmm, have you spoken with a S'lands rep or the sales office? I'm not sure to be honest. I'll have to dig my Guidelines book out tonight and have a read. We were told though that a landscaper would meet us and design the garden using the allocated plants and then if we wanted to add more plants we could. I recognise the pic of your house. it looks very nice, anyway i'll have to pick my plants and see what happens.. I have no idea about plants! Just a tip: make sure you put in your fencing request 8 weeks before you move in... as im having major dramas with them, I got 2 weeks notice from the builder to move in and immediately faxed off my fencing request as I have a dog and need the fence. (contract states 8 weeks notice is required) my dog has been in a kennel ever since.. still waiting for fence !!!! not happy jan !! Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 27Oct 16, 2008 3:27 pm oh so you are already in????!!! Lucky you if you are Our contract was 6 weeks for fencing. Will have to dig all that paperwork out again tonight and refresh my memory. It was March when I last looked at it!
We haven't been given a handover date yet. Hoping it's sometime mid December but could be later. Painting and Cabinetry happening over the next few weeks so we should get an approx date after that. Happy at Home Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 28Oct 16, 2008 3:27 pm Sharee, have you sent off your request for fencing yet? Surely you'll be in within 8 weeks? Yes we moved in almost 2 weeks ago... our contracts were signed sep 2007 it took over 12months for it to be finished... Not happy!! but its worth the wait..... the only bad thing is every little mark, scratch or paint chip i know we did, and it sucks !!! Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 30Oct 16, 2008 9:28 pm House-To-Be Sharee, have you sent off your request for fencing yet? Surely you'll be in within 8 weeks? Hey Toni, yep sent it off a couple of weeks ago - although they did say they can't start it untill there is no builders rubbish etc still on site, will interesting to see when they actually start, with a dog and a baby I won't be happy moving in without a fence! Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 31Oct 16, 2008 9:39 pm Congrats on the move in platinumwithice (maybe I'll just call you PWI ) I'll have a look for you on the weekend Sorry to hear your build took so long but glad it's been worth it! Who did you build through?
That's great Sharee, yep totally need it done before you move for your Dog. We are going to look so stupid sitting there with our house and fence.....wish lot 502 would hurry up We've tentatively booked in the pool delivery for early-mid Jan so no fence would be great for that. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Better find my paperwork tomorrow. Let me know what happened with the landscaping. PWI, did you use a local for your driveway? Sharee have you looked into this? I was going to wander around the Estate and door knock if I see one I like! Happy at Home Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 33Oct 25, 2008 12:08 pm Newbies We're building in Hawkstowe, and we got given a "design guidelines" booklet when we signed our contract, and it had info on the landscaping that u get.... anyway, have a look at that, cos our one says there are 4 "types" of garden designs, from memory, its like eco, romantic, modern and something else...hehe (duno if its very different to stockland in craigieburn) and it has different types of plants and stuff like that.... Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 35Oct 28, 2008 8:12 pm Hey guys,
to-do-list: When partner and i signed the land contract we didnt get a copy of the design guidelines. I had to actually ring the Stocklands office and request a copy to be sent to me cuz we had a few issues with the estate covenents with PD, so they will actually send you a copy if you tell them what stage you're building in. I dont know if design essentials are same for all stages. Hope that helps! Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 36Nov 04, 2008 3:26 pm Hi All,
I had my garden done by stockland recently also. The landscapers give you the option of 20 plants and 2 trees. I did my own design and didnt refer to the booklet at all. Try and pick the most expensive plants, i got two black boys; They look great! In regards to the fencer, he is very slow. Just keep calling him! I hope this helps!! Re: Stockland Front Landscaping 38Dec 04, 2008 9:54 pm Just thought I'd add to this as I got my info pack on our landscaping today.
We got a few pages listing various trees and shrubs and were told to pick 30 plants and 2 trees, do our design and send it to them. Hmmmm, I wasn't too keen on that especially as we were told that "someone" would create a design for us and then create the garden.. I rang Developer and spoke to the lady who sent the paperwork out to us. She said that the Landscapers can design it for you. We are going down that path. I'm not a landscape designer nor do I have time to research all the plants. So if anyone else is building with the free landscaping you might want to check to see if you can have them design it for you too if you don't want to do it. And as for the fencing, I posted the forms on 21st Nov, we had markings on the ground for posts on 27th and fence complete by the 2nd Dec. Very quick!
