I also planted broadbeans and they have started to sprout too Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Broccoli and cauliflower that I planted at the same time as the first lot of garlic and onions are doing great. Does this seem right? If I use wood from salvage yards I'm not sure what I'm getting. I got a box of "stuff" from a guy at the Hurstbridge Farmers Market today So this is what you get - a box full of stuff Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You get an instruction sheet, although they tell you what you need to do when you buy it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A bag of black casing soil Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And this is the starting of the mushrooms and how it comes in the box all enclosed in the black plastic bag - swiss browns on the left and normal button mushrooms on the right Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You crumbled the black casing soil over the top: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You then wrap the bag back up for 10-12 days (at this time of year) and then store it in a cupboard Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hopefully in 10-12 days I should have the start of some mushrooms poking through 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' We always had very large mushrooms ( as large as a kid's chair! ) growing in our boundary, but we just let it grow and die cos we are not brave enough to try. Spring is here! Hurray!
