Thanks Daedalus, very proud and very sore The Vans It looks gorgeous! Where did you get your cycad from and how much, if you dont mind me asking. I'm looking at palms galore. Also, as per previous question from another poster...how much for your planter to be bricked and rendeted? Could you pm me with details? We were going to attempt our own, on a smaller scale to yours...but yours looks amazing and probably is worth the money for a professional job! In love with your front yard! Thanks TV, I got the Cycads from Benara Nurseries. A friend has a trade account so bought it through there for $180+GST. Palms galare are good too, they only had small or large cycads. I paid my brickie $320 a day (3 days) to complete the planter box and letter box, double bricked. did a ok job, it wasnt the neatest but i knew it would get rendered so it was fine. The render cost $700 for the planter & letterbox, but i got quotes of up to $2500!!!!!!! He did a fantastic job. Some things are worth the professionals! Rendering is one of those jobs. I will try and find the details for you. Sir Snagger Nice work. Very speccy. Almost finished mine too now. Just the bit to the side of my driveway left to do and it'll all be great! Look forward to seeing yours all finished off. Hey SS, thanks. Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 105Jul 09, 2012 11:47 am Great, no AWESOME price for your cycad! I wish we knew someone in the nursery business!!! Thank you for the prices! A contact would be fantastic for bricking! i am going to take dog for a walk soon and hope i can see a brickie about, ask for a quote! Go from there! Thanks for your info and your photos! They are inspiring! Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 106Jul 30, 2012 9:20 pm I love how that has come together. To get the pipe under the path, i just shove the hose on the end of a length of pipe and use water to assist in feeding the pipe under. Back fill round it with lot of water and sand to fill all the gaps once the pipe is through. The Cycas revs will be prone to foliage problems regardless of soil prep. so keep an eye on them. I think theres a few around you that look a bit iffy from memory. Just really stoked to see how its all coming together for you. So different to when I saw it. Great seeing the lawn done well Even better to know you'll need t do stuff all with it for ever more. Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 107Aug 01, 2012 10:31 pm How is it all going? Have you decided on what you are going to put in the planter yet? We are getting our planter(s) and letterbox done on friday. I cannot wait! Got the house number and name on the letterbox plate today and it looks so nice...can't wait to see it on the letterbox!!! We got some local brickies to do ours. Footings were done last week, then the rain set in and has held us up. We only need to do the waterproofing and paint the render with our left over paint. Brickies will also quote for paving out the back! I can only hope my looks half as good as yours! Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 108Aug 28, 2012 5:30 pm Hi All, Apologies for lack of updates, have been progressively finishing the fornt off as i have been doing other things but i am almost there and very happy with the results Final soil prep for the planter boxes Side of driveway planted with Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Golf Ball', 2 more to be planted Front of letterbox with Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Golf Ball', uplight to be installed and the area to be covered with white stones. 3 off 300 x 600 granite slabs (surrouned by stones) to go behing letterbox. Black waterbowl to be installed in the front with agave and small succulents inside, not sure what plant to plant behind it, need something that doesnt grow too tall but grows a dense amount of leaves. 2 x Radermachera Summerscent in black Terrazzo pots, white stones to cover the base. A lot of weeds have popped up all over my EZ, im hoping its normal. Need to get onto the weeding before it takes over! A row of 'Tasred' and 'Little Con' planed behind the planter box. Planter box filled with Allyn Magic, idea is to keep it a informal hedge. see how we go. Drip lines installed. mulch to be added Cycas Revoluta. Such a beautiful plant. They look fantastic lit up at night too! 3 x flowering plum 'Crimson Spire ' trees, planted in bare rooted form, starting to shoot buds now. cant wait for the lots of purple leaves t cover the twigs Look forward to finishing it all off and taking a photo of it complete with the garden lights. Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 109Aug 28, 2012 6:09 pm weeds are not normal in EZ but once the lawn is established it will be fine...looks to me like a lot are coming through from the joins which were probably starting to evolve when lawn laid....i would pull them out (no weedkiller) and then give it a mow too get rid of the purple seed heads... Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 113Aug 29, 2012 10:22 am It looks stunning!!! Very impressive! A great garden makes a great house! Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 115Sep 02, 2012 9:26 pm I'd be tempted to get the hedge shears onto those summer scents. That way they will really get bushy before they flower in a few months. A good flush of new growth when the warm nights start will have them looking fantastic. The lawn weeds will be best tackled once things warm up. The lawn is going to be fine in the mean time. Re: WREXTER's LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - PLANT PHOTOS! 116Sep 21, 2012 12:58 pm Hi Wrexter Your garden looks amazing!! Are you happy with the EZ grass? How did it go for you over winter? Did it stay green? Does it need much mowing? I don't live too far from you and am about to put some down (I think!) - but you don't see much around to see what it looks like. And it'd be great to hear your view. thanks Wandering Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
