Thought this might be helpful to some starting out in the garden or looking at improving what they have. The WA water Corp has a great web site for ideas on water saving. http://www.watercorporation.com.au/ Over the last few years I have had the great pleasure of meeting John Colwill and attending many of his talks and a few training courses as well. He is a leading authourity on water conservation in the home garden.
