Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 27, 2018 9:01 pm Hi Everyone
I have recently purchased a property and am struggling with the lawn. I have been in the house for 4 weeks and have no history of the lawncare etc as it is a deceased estate. My first issue is lawn identification. I have been told that I have carpet grass (Axonopus compressus) based on a photo I uploaded via the Picture this App. I assumed it was a variety of buffalo. My second issue is what i think is possibly fungus or possibly heat stress. I have been watering three times a week of a night and am thinking this could be causing fungus issues. Here are some photos. Any feedback appreciated. I am in Western NSW (Dubbo) and we are experiencing 39-40 degree days here atm. The first photo (above) was taken when we first moved in when the temps were around 30 degrees and the lawn is doing well as it has shade most of the day, although it is starting to show signs of stress as well. Any more info happy to provide and any advice greatly appreciated. My lawn is dying... 3Jan 07, 2019 9:24 am I am not sure if you are on facebook, but there is an amazing page called WA Lawn Addicts. Maybe there is one for NSW, but shouldn't matter, as they are always giving advice on that page. I do not know a lot yet, but I would suggest getting catch cups from your local retic store (they should be free from the water corp) and use those to make sure you are getting your 10mm twice a week by measuring the amount of water you are getting and adjusting your run time to suit. I would then look at putting down a good soil wetter and some fertiliser. Hope this helps. the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 5286 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7616 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
