Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 09, 2017 11:36 pm Hi, I have finished building my raised planter box/retaining wall and now looking for advice for the best soil to use to plant mainly fruit trees (apple, nectarine, cherries, avocado etc) and citrus trees. I am located in Sydney and I had a look at ANL's website but they sell multiple mixes. I will need to fill around 8cubes so buying 20litre bags from bunnings will be too expensive. Max depth of the planter box is 800mm. Cheers and Thanks ! Re: Bulk Soil for raised planter box- Citrus and fruit trees 2May 01, 2017 6:41 pm It's only the top 400mm you want to worry about. Plant roots will not populate soils below that depth (often) because oxygen is too low. Try choose something that is a little sandy and has certified organic content. You may need to build that yourself using white washed sand, zeolite, organic compost, Coir peat. thanks chippy! here is the back of the wall which has not been backfilled yet. Here is the same back of the wall taken from the other end, behind the steps. As you… 5 2290 A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor. This form part of every DA requirement 3 226383 |
