Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 15, 2017 2:12 pm Hi, everyone. I am new and I don't know anything about landscaping. I found this forum on Google and I thought I'd ask my question. I am in the process of fixing up my yard and beacuse its not all on the same level I am planning a large amount of soil and spread it so that it becomes all on the same level. My problem is that where I am planning to spread the soil there are weeds growing. Should I dump my soil on top of them or remove them or place a covering on top and dump my soil on that. Thanks Re: Advice 2Apr 15, 2017 6:55 pm What are you putting on top of that soil? Will you be putting grass? I definitely wouldn't put any type of cloth first before putting the dirt as whatever you put there after cannot grow any deep roots You can spray everything with weed killer but it'll take a while for them to die and dry off (1-2 weeks) or you can pull them out if there aren't that many. Re: Advice 3May 01, 2017 12:23 am Just dump the soil on top of the weeds. They won't come up through the soil like some cheesey horror movie. 99% of it will die and rot into the soil.
