For a 50 square metre vegie patch, that's 28500 litres. A bit of a stretch with a 3000 L tank! 7-10kL would be closer to the mark I'd think. Remember you can only store 3kl the rest goes to waste. My catchment area is half the carport roof and it fills a 2500L tank easily, my veggie patch is about 30sqm and I easily empty it when it doesnt rain for a while.
