Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 07, 2014 1:00 pm Hey guys, Any recommendations for products to remove/kill grass from garden beds? Have attempted to dig the grass out from the roots which are almost 30cm below the surface but they still grow back within a couple of weeks. Link below to a few photos of the grass / weeds. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing Cheers, Steve Re: Garden bed grass (killer) 2Dec 08, 2014 11:12 pm I'm no expert but if you have grass nearby such as in the neighbours yard which is a notorious one for blowing seeds over on a windy day, that could be a culprit. You may risk killing your plants with weed killers but my gardener recommends dabbing it on by hand if you are going that route. I would try and re mulch the whole area with a good barrier like plastic and a really thick top layer. Re: Garden bed grass (killer) 3Dec 08, 2014 11:58 pm Hi joannek, Thanks for your response. The plan was to remove all the existing grass/weeds then plant a few natives and fill in the rest with pebbles such as these http://www.anewhouse.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/pebble-garden-bed.jpg Might need to go down the plastic/mulch path now. Our gardener put weed mat down then Lilydale topping over the top which sets to a hard surface. She said to pull out any weeds by hand but wouldn't be more than 5 mins a week. Here is a picture of Lilydale toppings. We are happy with it so far.
