Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Apr 15, 2020 5:23 pm G’day everyone, I’m currently doing a polished concrete dining table (1850 x 900 x 50). Still having a bit of trouble on how to connect my steel frame (legs) to stop the slab from any movement (even though extremely heavy). WHAT IF... I glued rubber matting to the top of the frame to go in between slab and frame. Will this be enough to keep it in place?? I’ve ruled out drilling into the concrete after it has set as risk of cracking. The best I’ve got at the moment is to pre-set threaded rod into the concrete.. Thank you!! Start with 6 mil masonry SDS + drill bit and then you can work up to the size you need getting the bits thicker by 2 mil at a time. Never had I any cracks this way. It's easier than drilling tiled surfaces.
