I'm a chippy and I'm pretty handy on the tools (can lay the odd brick and do a bit of hardwall plaster) but I wouldn't have a go at doing tuckpointing on my own. It looks to be an incredibly specialised trade and I can imagine the difference between a professional job and a DIY Job looking world's apart. Probably right! I was thinking of trying on a small patch of bricks around the side of the house and seeing how that goes. Will probably give me a reality check!
