Have you tried just grabbing the tongue of the latch and manually pulling it back.
That should open the door. If it's hard to do that it's possible the door has developed a bit of a bow and you may need to push the door to relieve the pressure on the latch.
What sort of lock is it. It looks like a Gainsborough Trilock or similar?

Looks to me you need to get a big flat head and try pull the barrel back in. Good luck
