I will be putting floating floors and it seems it is preferable to remove the skirting boards before laying the floors.
any tips of how to easily remove them? The skirting boards had been nailed in various places.
Thank you

You can try partially driving a small screw into one end ( you can fill the hole later) and then using the claw part of a large pinch bar the pull them. They will only be fixed with small brads so should come off fairly easily Re: removing skirting boards? 3Sep 22, 2008 11:37 pm How old is the house?
Luke - re small brads, glad the 50 and 75mm nails holding my skirting boards on are not known as brads To get mine off I bought sort 30cm long slim wrecking bar from that place that starts with a B, and it has a very broad and thin face on it and slips down between the skirting board and if I pull it forwards, it levers off the bottom plate and gets the skirting away from the wall with no gyprock damage. then from a small corner prey it with a flat/slim crowbar slightly working your way down then track the nail and prey all the way thats the best way i can tell you to do it Re: removing skirting boards? 5Oct 18, 2008 11:29 pm you can buy a skirting board pry bar. they cost stuff all in the tool shop at bunnings. Yes make sure you cut along the top of the skirting board with a stanly knife where it meets the wall. 4 6009 I'm about to put down some Merbau.
