Re: Water leak through window frame2

Who do I contact that can best assist with this? Or is there something I can do myself immediately before the cavalry arrives?
First thing is to take the blind down so it doesn’t get damaged, and anything else under the leak that is getting wet.
Unless there is a leak from a pipe in the wall above the window, it is likely that the start of the leak is outside. If the area is accessible (balcony or you have a tall ladder), then you could see what might be the problem and seal it out there with flashing or silicon. If that is all gobbledygook to you, you need to call a window installer or small-job builder/handyman to let them determine the cause of the problem. Just don’t leave it, because eventually the leak will cause damage inside the wall.

Thanks. I think I need something that ensures each end is pushed in rather than clamped though. Any ideas for that?

Hi all, Thank you for all your replies. I have applied a silicone as a temporary fix. It has been working so far. I definitely agree with getting a professional to do…
