If your the home handy type who will repair & revive your timber furniture? Than do yourself a HUGE favour.
DO NOT USE any cleaning product that contains silicone on your timber furniture or floors.
Silicone will seep right through your paint or lacquer into the timber where it will lurk waiting for you to re-paint or lacquer. Then it creates horrible marks in the new coating or even worse .... will make the new coating peal off.
So, read those spray cans and jars. If it's got silicone, run a mile!!!!
If you want to revamp some timber & don't know it's history, your best to strip the old coatings off compleatly and sand it back to the timber. Lots of work, but better to do it once than have to do it twice!
