So we are trying to remove the sliding panels from our horizontal sliders so we can clean them. We can't clean from outside as we have fixed security screens.
I have tried the push up and pull out at the bottom method but the wheels/rollers get caught.

Do you know what model they are? Sometimes google will find an instruction book / manual which can mention how to do thjs.
In short as the security screen are on the outside of the glass doors, you can access the bottom of the sliding door from the inside.
If you look at the base of the door, (may need a friend to lift it in its tracks while you do so) you should see the adjusters for the wheels/sliders. Appropriate finagling of these will allow you to remove the door.
