Floor sanding - chatter

We laid a brand new hardwood floor and hired a drum sander from Bunnings. We started at 40 grit, 60, 80 then 100. We then hired a rotary sander and used 120 discs on the bottom. We noticed at this point that we had chatter in the finish. How do we fix this
