Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jun 09, 2017 9:16 pm Hi all, recently lurched 1920's home, Norther Beaches Sydney. I've discovered under floor pooling water, damp and dry rot. Had to jackhammer our floor and found water flowing under house to suspected not connected storm drain system. Plumber checked all outflows and couldn't get a run off out to Street from any access point to the drainage system around the house. Plumber reckons we need to replace storm drains and under house drainage system. Said there will be no change from15K for this but I'm awaiting a quote. Stated that he'd need to excavate and use digger to lay new drainage system. Is this credible in terms of cost. For sure there is a drainage problem due to pooling water around the house and some drainage smells through toilets. Keen for people's thoughts? Does the amount seem right/reasonable? Or am I a naive 1st time homebuyer wo yes did not get a building report. Thanks JO Hello I am developing 2 side by side units.
