Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Mar 03, 2017 12:59 pm We've moved into a rental house and the shed continuously floods. The reason behind it is the back corner has been built below ground level (filled back in after cut out and built), so water gets in through the large gaps in the walls. Is there anything that can help fill this in? I've heard about expanding foam filler? Does anyone have any other suggestions. Re: Fill Gaps in Shed 3Mar 24, 2017 8:34 pm Key word here is RENTAL. First thing to do is speak to agent. Either have their tradie do it, or gain permission from owner to do it yourself. Not doing that and using something like expanding foam will make mess that you may have to rectify later. Another option to avoid any 'permanent' alterations to the shed fixture, is to dig out the offending corner and divert the water away at a level lower than the floor level of the shed. That way, all you've done is dug a trench, and is easy to rectify at end of tenancy if so required. But first point of call is the agent. Even offering to go halves if owner doesn't agree first off might get you what you want. If access to that corner is an issue and digging isn't possible, raise the floor with some bricks and an mdf sheet lined with plastic underneath and wrapped around its edges. If you can't control the water, control what gets wet! Brass fly wire, you will need to cut it, shape it and jam it into brick slots 1 7450 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
